Lillian M. Klann, 88, of South Bend, Ind., died following an illness at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 22, in her residence. Mrs. Klann was born on Nov. 1, 1910, in South Bend, to Robert and Emma (Misbach) Marquardt, and was a lifetime area resident.

On July 7, 1947, in Bowling Green, Ky., as Lillian Marquardt, she married Victor C. Mikesell, who preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1967. On May 15, 1976, in South Bend, she married Edward J. Klann, who preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1993. She is survived by a stepdaughter, Pamela Lockwood of St. Joseph, Mich.; and by several cousins, including Christian Aichele of South Bend.

Mrs. Klann was a member of Elks Lodge #235 Auxiliary, the Morris Park Country Club, and was a lifetime member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 30, in St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 915 N. Ironwood Drive, with Rev. James Iliff officiating. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory, with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Ind. There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's United Church of Christ, 915 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend, IN 46615; or to the charity of donor's choice. The Welsheimer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
