Elizabeth T. Kizer, 87, residing on North Ironwood, South Bend, Ind., formerly of South 36th Street, passed away at 8:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, in Regency Place of South Bend. She was employed at Uniroyal Corporation for 38 years, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Kizer was born on April 16, 1916, in Fayette City, Pa., to Stefhan and Lydia (Nagy) Buza, and moved to South Bend in 1943, coming from West Virginia.

 

In 1936, in West Virginia, she married David L. Malone, who preceded her in death in 1954. Then in 1963, in South Bend, she married Doran C. Kizer, who preceded her in death in 1967. Mrs. Kizer is survived by her son and his wife, Patrick N. and Nancy Malone of South Bend; three grandchildren, David A. (Tonia) Malone of Cincinnati, Ohio, Daniel J. (Anne) Malone of Holland, Mich., and Katherine A. (George) Wieger of Niles, Mich.; nine great-grandchildren, Kate, Matt, Kyle, Brian, Patrick, Jacob, Sean, Austin and Megan; and one sister, Ann (Bill) Hayden of Granger. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Nancy Juhasz; and by four brothers, Frank Buza, Steve Buza, Andy Buza and Billy Buza. Mrs. Kizer was a member of St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church, South Bend.

 

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Deacon Brian Miller will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Kizer may be made to St. Anthony dePadua Catholic Church, 2120 E. Jefferson, South Bend, IN 46615.
