Sister M. Francis Anne Kintz CSC

SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Francis Anne (Cecilia Ann Kintz), CSC, 85, was born in Terre Haute, IN, to the late Arthur and Catherine Cunningham Kintz. She was one of seven children and is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Kintz of Indiana, and her brother, Robert Kintz of Arizona. Two brothers and two sisters predeceased her. Sister is also survived by sisters-in-law, Marge Kintz and Norma Kintz; nephews, Patrick and Michael, all of Arizona; and nieces, Theresa and Carolyn. Other survivors include grand-nephews, Randy and Colton, and a grand-niece, Crystal.

 

Sister received her BA degree from Saint Mary of the Wasatch, Salt Lake City, UT, in 1946 and her M.Ed. from Loyola University, IL, in 1964. She was a teacher and taught in elementary schools in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan for some 21 years, and was supervisor and principal at Sacred Heart, Fort Wayne, IN. In 1970 she taught and helped in the office and was then assigned to the regional house in Illinois for clerical duties and to assist in the office. These new duties were accomplished over the next 14 years. Sister was an accountant for Saint Mary's School for three years and librarian at Queen of All Saint School for the next 11 years, both schools in Michigan City. Family needs in 1998 took sister to Terre Haute and the care of her sister, Elizabeth.

 

Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home handled arrangements in Terre Haute, where visitation was from 10 to noon on Saturday, May 19, with a vigil service at noon, both at St. Patrick's Church. Kaniewski Funeral Home is handling arrangements in South Bend. Reception of the body and wake service will be Monday at 4 p.m. in Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial will be at Our Lady of Peace Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of the Holy Cross Ministry with the Poor Fund, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, IN 46556.
