John C. Kintz, 89, of 53444 Juniper Road, a retired contractor, died at
11:45 PM Thursday in St. Joseph's hospital.  Mr. Kintz was born on April 30,
1874 in Decatur, Indiana.  On November 23, 1897, in St. Patrick's Catholic
Church, he married Edith M. Slocum, who survives.  Also surviving are two
sons, Gerald and Elmer, both of South Bend; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice
Norton and Mrs. Mae Conde both of South Bend; 23 grandchildren: 55
great-grandchildren; a great great-grandchild and a brother, Otto Kintz, St.
Petersburg, Florida.  Friends may call after 7 PM Saturday in the Hollis
Funeral Home.  Services will be at 10 AM Monday in Christ the King Catholic
Church with Rev. Clement H. Funke, C. S. C., pastor, officiating.  Burial
will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  He was a member of the Contractors
Association of South Bend.  The rosary will be recited at 7:30 PM Sunday in
the funeral home.  Pallbearers will be Thomas Raffier, John Norton, and John
P. Gerald, Jr., Thomas and Jack Kintz.
