Gerald P. [Mike] Kintz, 78, of 18473 Edison, died at 6 AM today in his home
after an extended illness.  He was the owner of Mike's Body Shop.  Born on
November 10, 1898, in South Bend, Kintz had lived here all his life.  On
September 6, 1922, in South Bend, he married at the former Bernadine Riffel,
who survives.  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Betty Barber, Mrs.
Mary Catherine Stopczynski and Mrs. Joyce Meade, all of South Bend; three
sons, Jack and Jerry both of South Bend, and Thomas of the Valinda,
California; 29 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs.
Bernice Norton and Mrs. Mae Conde, both of South Bend, and a brother, Elmer
of South Bend.  Services will be at 10 AM Saturday in the Little Flower
Catholic Church.  Rev. George Coulon, C. S. C., pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Valley Memorial Park.  Friends may call from
2 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM Friday in the McGann Funeral Home, where a wake service
will be held at 7:30 PM Friday.
