Rose M. Kintzele, 78, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Thursday, April 29, at the Hospice House. Our mother was born on July 12, 1920, in Chicago, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Estelle McDonald; her husband, Richard W. Kintzele, Sr.; and by her daughter, Roseanne. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Richard W., Jr., of Phoenix, Ariz., Robert of Kenai, Alaska, and Joe John of South Bend; and her daughters, Mary Ellen (Chet) Koziol of Rockford, Mich., Loretta (Tom) Armock of Grand Rapids, Mich., Jeanette (Brian) Pritschet of Charleston, Ill., and Ginger (Rick) Such of Indianapolis, Ind. She is survived by ten grandchildren, Deb Armock of Mason, Mich., Dan Armock of Hudsonville, Mich., Scott, Joe and Jen of Grand Rapids, Mich., Olivia Kintzele of Spokane, Wash., Sara, Mike and Laura Pritschet of Charleston, Ill., and Mary Elizabeth Koziol of Rockford, Mich. Rose graduated from St. Mary's of the Woods. She married on Oct. 25, 1944, in Chicago, Ill. She retired from J.C. Penney in 1995.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 3, in McGann Funeral Homes, 2313 E. Edison Road. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to either St. Mary's of the Woods College, St. Mary's of the Woods, IN 47876; or to Sacred Heart Basilica, Notre Dame.
