Sharon Ann Kimble

SOUTH BEND - Sharon Ann Kimble, residing in South Bend, passed away in the early morning of Monday, April 21, 2008, in Memorial Hospital following a courageous battle with leukemia at the age of 63. Sharon was born February 25, 1945, in LaPorte, IN, to Joseph and Ruby Opal (Barr) Letcher, and had lived in South Bend most of her life. She graduated from South Bend Washington High School and began working with First Source Bank as a teller. She retired in 2004 following 42 years of employment.

 

On June 25, 1966, in Sumption Prairie United Methodist Church, South Bend, she was united in marriage to Dale K. Kimble, who survives. Also surviving are her mother, Ruby Letcher of South Bend; her daughter, Kristina May of Bristol, IN; and two sons, Steven Kimble of Wabash, IN, and Michael Kimble of South Bend. Four grandchildren, Dillon May, Trenton May, Collin Thrasher and Kaleb Kimble survive her as well. A brother, Larry Kinny of South Bend, a half brother, David Letcher of South Bend, and two stepbrothers, John Letcher of Niles, MI, and James Letcher of Elkhart, IN, survive Sharon as well. She was preceded in death by her father, and by a daughter, Angela Kimble in 1989. Mrs. Kimble was a longtime member of South Side Church of God, South Bend. She was a volunteer for Real Services, and bowled for many years. She assisted her husband Dale as secretary for the South Bend Bowling Association for many years. She was also a member of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

 

Services celebrating the life of Sharon Kimble will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, in the South Side Church of God, 7351 U.S. 31 South, South Bend. Rev. Greg D. Crump will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Saturday, April 26, and 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services on Monday in the church.
