Russell F. Kesner

February 2, 1918 - September 5, 1983

Services for Russell F. Kesner, 65, of 801 Hubbard, who died about 9:123am Monday in St Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend, will be at 1pm Thursday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel.  Rev. W. Leon Hartman, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, will officiate.  Burial will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Wednesday in the funeral home.

He was born on February 2, 1918, in Rockville IN and spent most of his life here, after coming from Rockville.  On March 29, 1945, in Michigan City, he married Dorothy Konopinski. She survives with two daughters, Miss Linda Kay Kesner of Mishawaka and Mrs. Kenneth (Karen) Kulberg of Chicago; a stepson, Ronald I. Hygema of Osceola; three grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Ruth Thiel of Mishawaka.

A Navy veteran of WW II, he retired in December 1980 from the Bendix Corp. after 40 years of service.  He was a member of Mishawaka Free & Accepted Masons Lodge 130, the White Shrine, and Fraternal Order of Eagles 435, South Bend.  A living memorial will be made in his name at the Masonic Home in Franklin IN.  Memorials may be made to the St Joseph County Cancer Society.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today in the funeral home where a memorial service by members of Mishawaka F & AM Lodge 130 will be held at 7pm.
