MISHAWAKA - Sister M. Humberta Kersting, OSF, 81, of St. Francis Convent, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in her residence. Sister M. Humberta was born May 3, 1912, in Laurium, Mich., as Mary Kersting.

She entered the convent Aug. 31, 1929 and received her Franciscan habit June 29, 1930. She was a teacher in schools in Missouri, Louisiana, Illinois and Indiana, coming to St. Francis Convent in 1980, serving as sacristan. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Helen Kersting of Scottsdale, Ariz.; and several nieces.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in the convent chapel. Burial will be in St. Francis Convent Cemetery. A wake will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the convent chapel.
