SOUTH BEND - Services for Joseph W. Kelly, 70, of Dorwood Drive, who died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday in his home of natural causes, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Sacred Heart Basilica. Cremation will take place. Burial will be in St. Joseph Memorial Park, Granger. There is no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
Mr. Kelly retired as operations manager for WSBT-AM and WNSN-FM. He was born Jan. 10, 1924, in Benton Harbor, and was a lifelong area resident.
On Nov. 15, 1947, in Chicago, he married Dorothy Newman. She survives with eight sons, Joseph W. III, Martin T., Thomas J., Charles E., Gavin M. and Edward M., all of South Bend, Sean C. of Phoenix, and Timothy A. of Memphis, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandsons. He was a member of the church.
