Rev. Edward A. Keller CSC, 86, of Dillon Hall, Notre Dame, died early Saturday morning in St. Joseph Medical Center after an illness. Born June 27, 1903 in Cincinnati, he entered Holy Cross Seminary in 1918. He made his first vows in the Congregation of Holy Cross, on July 21, 1923 and his final vows Feb. 2, 1929. He studied at the University of Notre Dame, St. Edwards University, Austin, Tex., and Holy Cross College, Washington, DC. He was ordained in Sacred Heart Church, Notre Dame, June 24, 1931.

 

After graduate studies in economics at the University of Minnesota for two years, Father Keller returned to Notre Dame in 1933 to teach in the Economics Dept. He was the author of five books. Survicing are two sisters, Eleanor Wack and Henrietta Geiger, both of South Bend; and a brother, Herbert Keller of California.

 

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at Moreau Seminary. Burial will be in Holy Cross Community Cemetery, Notre Dame. Friends may call after 3:30 p.m. Monday at Moreau Seminary, where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
