Marvin J. Keiser, 62, of Colony Bay Drive, Cassopolis, Mich., formerly of Mishawaka, died at 1:35 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 1997, in St. Joseph Community Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born in Mishawaka on March 13, 1935 and had been a lifetime resident living in Cassopolis for the past year. He retired from the Mishawaka Police Department in 1985, having served for 21 years. He served in the U.S. Army. Marvin was a member of Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 91 and Mishawaka Masonic Lodge 130. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.

 

Marvin is survived by his wife, Kathy, whom he married Sept. 25, 1993, in Mishawaka. He is also survived by his stepmother, Josephine McCallie of South Bend and two daughters; Marie Keiser of Mercer, Wis. and Deanna Zahn of South Bend; three stepdaughters, Nicola Kunze of Mishawaka, Bobbie Wilson of Mishawaka and Katie Bateman of South Bend. He has four grandchildren, Suellen Wilson, Scarlett Wilson, Austin Kunze and Brian Welker. Marvin has three sisters, Patricia Villaneuva of South Bend, Laura Foster of Somerset, Ohio and Jeanne Trovatore of Janesville, Calif.; and two brothers, Robert Keiser of South Bend and Ronald Keiser of Mishawaka.

 

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where Mishawaka Masonic Lodge 130 will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. John Gregory in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, Monday, April 29, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mishawaka City Cemetery.
