Theresa C. Katona

November 22, 1929 – August 16, 1998

Theresa C. Katona, 68, of Northlea Drive, passed away at 2:10am on Sunday, August 16, in Hospice of St Joseph County, South Bend IN.

She was born on November 22, 1929, in South Bend, to Joseph & Mary Otolski, and had lived in the area most of her life, after spending 13 years in Elgin IL.

On March 16, 1956, as Theresa C. Otolski, she married Leroy E Katona, who preceded her in death in December 1975.  She was also preceded in death by her parents and by a daughter, Cynthia K. Katona.

Mrs. Katona is survived by three daughters, Diana Hensell of South Bend, Karen Pole of Ida MI and Cheryl Deinema of Edwardsburg MI; a son, Robert Newton of South Bend; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; four sisters, Pat Jackmovich of Mishawaka, Barbara Crump and Virginia Korkhouse, both of South Bend and Clementine Muckenfuss of Michigan; and by a brother, Walter Hess of South Bend.

Funeral services will be held at 10am Wednesday, August 19, in the Kaniewski Chapel, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, with Rev. Thomas F. Lemos, CSC, officiating.  Burial will take place at 2:30pm in Bluff City Cemetery, Elgin IL.

Friends may call form 4 to 8pm today and one hour prior to services on Wednesday in the funeral home.
