Sister Mary Charitina CSC, 68, of the Holy Cross Convent at the University of Notre Dame, died Friday at 10:10 p.m. in St. Joseph Hospital in South Bend, after a years’ illness of heart disease. She was born in Bavaria, Germany in 1874, and was professed in the Order of Holy Cross in 1909. Her name before entering the congregation was Ottilie Karlstetter. Two sisters survive in Germany.

Requiem mass will be held at 5:30 a.m. Monday in the Holy Cross Convent and burial will be in the community cemetery at St. Mary’s. at St. Mary’s College at 4 p.m. Monday.
