Nancy J. Karlin

May 12, 1956 - April 29, 2010
SOUTH BEND - Nancy Joy Karlin, 53, passed away peacefully on April 29th after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in South Bend on May 12, 1956, to Erwin and Corinne Karlin, who survive her. She was a beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, friend and neighbor. She is also survived by her brother, Marty (Nanci) Karlin of Buffalo Grove, IL; her brother, Gary Karlin of Harrison, NY; and a sister, Sharon (Karlin) Avisror of Indianapolis. She was the beloved aunt of her "Supergirls" - Sara and Kimberly Karlin, and Talia and Kayla Avisror. She maintained a blog on the internet that outlined her struggle with Multiple Myeloma, and was read by many in the U.S. and overseas. She lived in Indianapolis for the last 20 years, and was sole proprietor of "Arts & Letters," and worked as a graphic artist and publisher. Nancy loved gardening, cooking, reading, movies and her dog, Molly. Funeral services will be held today, May 2nd, at 3:00 p.m. in the McGann Hay, Forest G. Hay Chapel, 435 S. Ironwood Drive & E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46615, (574) 289-6375. Interment will follow at Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery in Mishawaka.
