SOUTH BEND - Shirlee A. Kaps, 59, of Gordon Drive, died of natural causes at 9:17 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Kaps was born July 4, 1934, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Sept. 28, 1963, in South Bend, she married John D. ''Jack'' Kaps. He survives, with a daughter, Jill Kaps Ferry of Indianapolis; two sons, Randy L. and Scott C., both of South Bend; two sisters, Mary Lou Pairitz of Union, and Jacquelyn Beyer Massey of St. Louis; and a brother, Robert L. Beyer of Granger.

She was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 East Edison Road, where a vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or National Kidney Foundation.
