MISHAWAKA - Antoinette "Toni" Kanoff, 48, residing in Mishawaka, left this earthly life at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007, in her home, and now rests in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Born November 27, 1959, in Dickinson, North Dakota, to Anton and Caroline Klein, she had lived in this area since 1978, coming from North Dakota. Many knew Toni by her vibrant, outgoing personality and her long beautiful hair. She loved flowers, animals, gardening, picnics, and long walks with her husband. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, and loved her grandchildren more than words can describe. Toni's greatest joy was her deep relationship with God through Jesus Christ, her Savior. Her faith was a never-ending source of strength and hope, especially during her lengthy illness. She placed her trust completely in God, and accepted His ultimate will, knowing he is faithful and merciful. She is an ongoing source of inspiration to all who knew her.

On November 18, 1978, in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Walter Kanoff, who survives. Also surviving are her mother and stepfather, Caroline and Anton Schmidt of Dickinson, ND; her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica E. and Bret Conkle of Indiana; her son and daughter-in-law, Adam E. and Megan Kanoff of California; and five grandchildren, Seth, Shayne, Naomi and Jonathon Conkle, and Brayden Kanoff. Five sisters, Bonnie Klein of Michigan, Cheryl (Loren) Tschaekofske of St. Cloud, MN, Cathy (Rick) Deutscher of Shepherd, MT, Caroline Klein and Mary Ann Klein, both of Dickinson, ND, and three brothers, Allen (Theresa) Klein and Kevin (Dina) Klein, all of Dickinson, ND, and Pat (Susan) Klein of Normandy Park, WA, survive Toni as well.

Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2007, in Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
