Dorothy M. Kaniewski

SOUTH BEND - Dorothy M. Kaniewski, 90, of South Bend,
passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2007, at 1:28 a.m. in Morningside
Nursing and Memory Care Center, with her family by her side.
Dorothy was born on February 23, 1917, in Louisville, KY, to the
late William E. and Rebecca (Stone) Wiegand.
On October 2, 1943, she married Martin J.
Kaniewski in Louisville, KY. She was preceded in death by her
husband Martin in 2004, and by her son Bill in 2001. She is
survived by her son, Bob (Daryl) Kaniewski of South Bend; a
daughter-in-law, Gisela Kaniewski; two grandchildren, Casey and
Christie; and by several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was a loving
wife, mother and grandmother. Dorothy's devoted love and support
gave her family the confidence to live their lives well.
Dorothy's family would like to thank Cathy Janeczko and
her staff at Morningside Nursing and Memory Care Center for their
wonderful care and love in the last year of her life.

Friends and family may call from noon to 1 p.m. on Friday, June
8, 2007, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South
Bend. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Holy
Cross Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery,
South Bend.
