SOUTH BEND - Joseph E. Kalicki, 88, of Sugar Maple Lane, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 12, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Kalicki retired in 1974, from the Bendix Corporation, after 30 years of employment. He was born to Frank and Isabelle (Ludwiczak) Robertson on Nov. 4, 1909, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident.

 

On June 9, 1934, in St. Casimir's Catholic Church, he married the former Lottie V. Nowicki, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Barbara (Jerry) Badur of South Bend; a son, Kenneth (June) Kalicki of South Bend; five grandchildren, Deborah A. (Chris) Ulch of Edgewater, Fla., Dennis A. Badur of South Bend, Robin Ann (Frank) Bennett of Mishawaka, Ind., Randall Kevin (Kim) Kalicki of Aurora, Colo., Daniel A. Badur of South Bend; eight great-grandchildren, Bobby J. Kalicki of South Bend, Samantha L. McClanahan of Edgewater, Fla., Sarah J. Howe of South Bend, Stephanie A. Howe of South Bend, Randi M. Kalicki of South Bend, Kara J. Badur, Kasie R. Badur and Kelden A. Badur, all of Mishawaka; four step-grandchildren, Chelsea Taylor, Sharea Taylor, Lisa Taylor and Shane Taylor, all of Aurora, Colo.; and by a sister, Marie Hes of South Bend. Mr. Kalicki was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Isabelle (Ludwiczak) Kalicki; and a brother, Leonard Kalicki.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Terry Place officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Friends called from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a rosary was recited at 3:30 p.m. Mr. Kalicki belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Parish and its Retiree's Group, Bendix Local No. 9, Retirees; and the Golden Age Group of Edwardsburg, MI.
