SOUTH BEND - Bertha Kahal, 82, of
California Avenue, died at 5:10 p.m. Friday in Healthwin
Hospital. Mrs. Kahal was born Nov. 5, 1912, in Chicago, and lived
here since 1947, coming from Chicago.
On April 20, 1947, in South Bend, as Bertha Waller,
she married Abraham L. Kahal. He survives with a daughter, Ina
Kahal of South Bend; a son, Edward of Augusta, Ga.; three
grandchildren; and two sisters, Lee Crown of Northbrook.
Ill., and Rose Kahalnick of Claremont, Calif. She was a
member of Sinai Synagogue.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today in
Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery Chapel. There will be no visitation.
Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial
contributions may be made to the synagogue.
