Mrs. Esther Jurgonski: (South Bend Tribune 7/23/1980)

Mrs. Esther Jurgonski, 73, of 613 S. Kosciusko, died this morning at home after an unexpected illness. She was retired from the University of Notre Dame Laundry Service. Born on Sept. 21, 1906, in South Bend, she had lived here all her life. On Sept. 23, 1925, in South Bend, as Esther Hazinski, she married Enich Jurgonski, who died in 1959. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Loretta Smigielski, and a son, Edward, both of South Bend; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Jean Anderson of Mishawaka, and Mrs. Angela Gueza and Mrs. Gertrude Gadacz, both of South Bend; and two brothers, Anthony Hazinski of South Bend and Eugene Hazinski of Mishawaka. Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Rev. Thomas K. Zurcher, C.S.C., pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Church Altar and Rosary Society, and Lodge 1437, Polish National Alliance.
