MISHAWAKA - Patsy D. Joyner, 76, of Mishawaka, died on Sunday, July 18, 2010. She was born in South Bend on October 5, 1933, to John and Cleo (Laughman) Penrose. Patsy married John H. Joyner in TN on July 1, 1957. John died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Juanita Shirley in 2000; and two brothers, Percy Penrose in 1953 and Eugene Penrose in 2004. Mrs. Joyner is survived by two daughters, Cecilia Zimmerman of Mishawaka and Christine Rungren of TX; two sons, John Joyner of Detroit and Joseph Joyner of Osceola; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a stepdaughter, Mary Penrose of Mishawaka; and a stepson, Gerald Joyner of Plymouth. Also surviving are three sisters, Retha Taylor of MS, June Landry of South Bend and Donna Borem of OK; and two brothers, John Penrose of AZ and Leo Penrose of Mishawaka. Patsy was a member of the VFW 360 Ladies Auxiliary and UAW Local 5. She was a member of Deer Run Church of Christ. Patsy was formerly employed at AM General. The family will greet friends on Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon in Bubb Funeral Chapel, where a funeral service will be held at noon, with Ken Wilson officiating.
