South Bend Tribune 5/4/2008
OSCEOLA - Jami Gail Jones, 38, of Osceola, loving wife, daughter and sister, passed away suddenly on May 1st, 2008. She was born to James and Sharon Dickey on December 21, 1969, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident of Osceola.

As the former Jami Gail Dickey, she married Melvin R. Jones Jr. on June 1, 1996, in Niles, MI. She was a 1988 graduate of Penn High School, had an associate degree from Michiana College of Commerce and a bachelor degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. Jami had worked at Valley Research in South Bend for 13 years and left the business world to follow her dream of opening her own Pet Boutique business. In November 2007, she opened Canine Crazy in Granger. Jami was extremely talented, had a passion for all animals and a special love for her three dogs, Lukas, Chance and Darla. She believed that "In a perfect world, every home would have a dog, and every dog would have a home." Jami is survived by her husband, Melvin R. Jones Jr. of Osceola; her parents, James and Sharon (Keltz) Dickey of Louisville, OH; paternal grandfather, Willard J. Dickey, and maternal grandmother, Geraldine Reidenbach, both of Mishawaka; a sister, Dawn Dickey, and a brother, Todd Dickey, both of Mishawaka; mother-in-law, Linda Jones of Mishawaka; father-in-law, Melvin R. Jones Sr. of Sault Ste. Marie, MI; a sister-in-law, Janette (Eric) Shapland of Mishawaka; nine nieces and nephews, Sam, Taeylor, Erica, Jessica, Joshua, Jacob, Sophia, Max and Grady; a great-nephew, Aiden; and all of her many, many friends----we all loved Jami very much and will miss her deeply. Her family appreciates all of the love and support they have received at this very difficult time.

Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, May 5th, in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. Burial will be at a later date.
