SOUTH BEND - Billy Ray Jones, 64, of Huntingburg, Indiana,
formerly of the South Bend area, died at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, June
10, 2008, at his residence in Huntingburg. He was born on August
11, 1943, in Florence, Alabama, to Leonard and Clura (Herriell)
Jones.
He was united in marriage to Sandra Kay Hurst
on July 29, 2000, in Mishawaka, Indiana. He was a retired
self-employed trim carpenter, a United States Army veteran, a
member of Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366 and Santa Claus American
Legion, and enjoyed boating on the St. Joe River in South Bend
with friends. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Lynn
Jones. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Kay; two sons, Kenneth
Ray (wife: Kelly) Jones of Santa Claus, IN, and Robert Allen
Jones of Evansville, IN; two sisters, Brenda Sappington of
Myrtle, Missouri, and Doris Jean Frasier of Mishawaka, IN;
and two grandchildren.
Friends may call for viewing and visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., EDT, today, June 12th. V.F.W. Post #2366 will conduct a military memorial service at 6:00 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. Following the visitation and memorial service, cremation will take place and the cremains will be buried at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to VistaCare Hospice.
