SOUTH BEND - Our dear mother, Antoinette LeBlanc Jones passed away on December 2, 2008 at the age of 101 years, 5 months and 5 days. She was born to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Hinschberger) LeBlanc in South Bend. She was united in holy matrimony to our late father, Justin B. Jones on September 14, 1927 and they celebrated 69 years together. Justin's late sister was Bonnie Rockne, wife of the late Notre Dame Football Coach, Knute Rockne. Mon was preceded in death by her sister, Bernice (Eugene) Guentert; two brothers, Ralph and Albert (Florence) LeBlanc and half sister, Ruth (Guy) Tomlinson. Her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Betty Jones and her grandson, Thomas Cope-land also preceded her. She is survived by her three daughters, Rita and Daniel Wendel (Timothy, David and Elizabeth) of Jacksonville, FL, Joan and James Copeland (Rebecca and Phillip) of South Bend and Nancy and Christopher Thilman (Allison and Collin) of Granger. She is also survived by Joseph's Children (Greg, Jeff, Christopher and Sherry), her youngest sister, Magdalena (Chester) Sciba of South Bend, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and special family friends, Thomas & Muriel Botkin. Mom was a stay-at-home mother (lucky lady!!!) and was active in the altar society at St. Joseph Church, Christ Child Society and Red Cross. Mom and Dad lived on Sorin Street in South Bend before moving to Granger in 1988 to live with Nancy's family. In September 2002 she dislocated her hip and moved to Fountainview/Golden Living Center in Mishawaka. She was a very feisty lady-just ask her caregivers- Maryanna, Maggie, Kim, Michelle, Annie, Bobbie, Karen and Gladys - and always wanted to come back home to live. Many times she threatened to run away in her wheelchair!!! On Saturdays Chris would bring her lunch and a little beer, wine or chocolate. She really loved that guy and he took such good care of her up to the very end. As all good things must come to an end, she got sick about six weeks ago and left us on Tuesday at 3:20 p.m. ... we will all miss her terribly. She is "walking" again next to Justin and reunited with her parents and family that have gone before her. We love you Mom, Grandma Net, Sister, Aunt and Froggy!! WHAT A LADY!!! Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:15 p.m. Monday at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Granger, with visitation in the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery next to her husband and parents. Memorials may be made to St. Pius X Church, 52553 Fir Road, Granger, Pet Refuge, 2300 W. 6th, Mishawaka; or Center for Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
