Amanda K. Jones, 21, of North Chicago Road, New Carlisle, Ind., passed away Sunday, Sept. 16, as the result of a motorcycle accident in Rolling Prairie, Ind. Amanda was born May 5, 1980, in Titusville, Fla., to Cathy (Paul) Whalen of New Carlisle and Dale (Lisa) Jones of New Carlisle, who survive. She moved to the New Carlisle area as a child and was a lifelong resident of the area. She is also survived by a son, Gage Michael Tripp at home; a sister, Katrina Jones of New Carlisle; stepsisters, Rachel Mattasits, Rebecca Elkins and Stephanie Elkins, all of New Carlisle; and stepbrothers, David and Travis Whalen of New Carlisle, and Robert Mattasits and Cody Elkins of New Carlisle; maternal grandparents, James and Joan Wilkinson; maternal great-grandmother, Gladys Smith; paternal grandmother, Patsy Wheeler; and paternal grandfather, Ben Jones, all of New Carlisle. Amanda was a graduate of New Prairie High School. She loved kittens and butterflies, and also loved the color purple.

isitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 19, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services for Amanda will be held at noon Thursday, Sept. 20, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, with burial to follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Katrina Jones or Raymond Jones for the benefit of the Amanda and Gage Jones Fund, c/o Wells Fargo Bank, 118 Michigan Street, P.O.
