J. Arthur Johnson

J. Arthur Johnson, 84, formerly of North Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away after an illness on Wednesday, July 10, in the Zeeland Community Hospital, Zeeland, Mich.

Arthur was born in Mishawaka on Aug. 30, 1917. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of the First Baptist Church, Mishawaka. Arthur was a self-employed printer. On June 28, 1946, in Mishawaka, Arthur married Ruth A. Grenert, who preceded him in death on Sept. 8, 1993. He is survived by a son, Paul D. (Dianna) Johnson of Hudsonville, Mich.; two grandchildren, David and Sarah Johnson of Hudsonville; one brother, Harold Johnson of North Carolina; and by a sister, Ruth Irvine of California.

Friends may call from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday, July 15th, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. with the Rev. David Miller officiating. Burial is to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Christian Service or to the Gideon Memorial Bible Program.
