SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Georgia B. Douglas Johnson of South Kenmore
Street, South Bend, departed this life to be with the Lord at
11:30 a.m., on Monday, August 16, 2010 in her residence. Georgia
was born in 1935 to the union of George and Pauline (White)
Douglas in South Bend. Both preceded her in death, along with a
half sister, Gertrude Woods. Georgia leaves to mourn her death,
her loving husband, Joseph Johnson of South Bend; one son, Keith
Jackson of Sandusky, Ohio; three sisters- in-law, Vernice Johnson
Marcum of South Bend, Linda Johnson Ezekwe of Clarksdale,
Mississippi and Wanda Irby of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two brothers-
in-law, Eric Johnson and Mitchell Johnson both of East Chicago,
Indiana; three special cousins that were dear to her, Tommie
Douglas Harris and Tony Reed Douglas both of South Bend and
Willie T. Jelks of Chicago, Illinois; three special friends,
Brenda Detsch, Ralph Landrum and Harriet Parks, all of South
Bend; along with a host of other cousins relatives and friends.
Georgia, you will be truly missed and we all loved you very much.
Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia B. Johnson will be held at
12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 in Alford's Mortuary.
Viewing will take place in the chapel from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00
p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted with Alford's Mortuary
