Carol L. Johnson, 44, of Portsmouth Court, Mishawaka, Ind., died after a short illness at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 29.

Carol was born on Dec. 15, 1954, in South Bend, Ind., to Philip C. and Frances (Diley) Johnson and they both survive.

Carol is also survived by a brother, Steven A. Johnson of South Bend; her aunts and uncles, Shannon and Marion Clements of Elkhart, Ind., Charles E. and Phyllis Diley of Elkhart, Jack L. and Betty Diley of Anderson, Ind.; and by her cousins, Lorraine Loney of Elkhart, Cherryl and John Stauffer of Elkhart, Linda and Robert Whitson of Elkhart, Amy and Kevin Hargrove of St. Charles, Mo., and Dennis and Dolores Pittman of Fairbanks, Ind.

Carol was a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School and of Ball State University. She was employed as a payroll clerk at Bowne South Bend Manufacturing. Carol was formerly employed at Ave Marie press at Notre Dame, Ind. She was also a member of the D.A.R.

Funeral services for Carol L. Johnson will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Officiating will be the Rev. James B. Miller of the Sunnyside Presbyterian Church. Interment will take place in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home.
