Henrietta D. Jelinski

March8, 1920 – December 29, 2001

Henrietta D. Jelinski, 81, of Meade Street in South Bend, IN passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2001 in her residence.

She was born on March 8, 1920 to the late Andrew and Frances Samulski in South Bend, IN and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Jelinski retired in 1983 from LaSalle High School, after 15 years of employment in the Food Service Department.

On July 1, 1939 as Henrietta D. Samulski, she married Floyd F. Jelinski in South Bend, IN. He died on February 10, 1998.

She is survived by one daughter, Geraldine C. (Bill) Bingaman of St. Joseph, MI; one son, Larry Jelinski of Constantine, MI; five grandchildren, Kelly (Russel) Luther of Grand Rapids, MI; Michael F. (Cathy) Bingaman of St. Joseph, MI; Martin P. (Jamie) Bingaman of St. Joseph, MI; Mark W. Bingaman of Benton Harbor, MI; Kipp Jelinski of South Bend, IN; one step grandson, Robert (Ann) Pauwels of South Bend, IN; two great grandchildren, Skyler and Shelby Luther, both of Grand Rapids, MI; and two step great-grandchildren, Justin and Jeremy Pauwels, both of South Bend, IN.

Mrs. Jelinski was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2002, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with Rev. Terry E. Place officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 - 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 2, 2002 in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 4:00 p.m.
