SOUTH BEND - Josephine Lekarczyk Jankowski, 89, of South
Bend, IN, passed away Monday morning, March 24, 2008, in Loudon,
TN. She attended St. Anthony's Catholic Church in South Bend.
Josephine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and
great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Sylvester Jankowski, along with her parents and all her brothers
and sisters. Survived by her are her children, Darline Szymczak
and husband, John of Tellico Village, Loudon, TN, Gerald
Jankowski of Henderson, NV, Richard Jankowski and wife, Janet of
Okemos, MI; grandchildren, Sherry Elsey, Craig Szymczak,
Rachel Jankowski, Brandon Jankowski, Krista Finkbeiner,
Derek Finkbeiner, Scott Maloney and Daniel Maloney;
great-grandchildren, Kirt, Katie and Kevin Szymczak; several
nieces and nephews.
A Catholic funeral service will be held at 1
p.m. Saturday, March 29, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, South
Bend. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to
the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 10088, Knoxville, TN
37939-9910.
