SOUTH BEND - Anne Janiak, 81, of Sauk Village, Ill., formerly of South Bend, died at 11:25 a.m. Saturday in St. Margaret's Mercy Healthcare Center, Dyer, Ind. Mrs. Janiak retired in 1992 from St. Thecla Rectory, Chicago, as a cook and housekeeper. She was born March 10, 1912, in South Bend.

On July 24, 1935, in South Bend, as Anne Zielinski, she married Alex Janiak. He died in 1952. She is survived by two daughters, Joan Chlebek of Michigan City and Theresa Hunn of Chelsea, Mich.; two sons, Thomas of Williamsburg, Mich., and Michael of Simi Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Mary Janiak of South Bend. She was a member of Leisure Club II, St. Thecla's Women's Council, Heritage Club, Chicago, Senior Club of Commerce & Industry and Chicago Catholic Order of Foresters.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
