MISHAWAKA - William D. James, 68, of Jamestown Court, died at 6:25 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, South Bend. Mr. James retired in 1983 from Wheelabrator-Frye Corp. after 20 years of service. He was born July 15, 1926, in South Bend.

On April 28, 1951, in Mishawaka, he married Maxine R. Gay. She survives with a daughter, Laura S. Ransberger of South Bend; two sons, Robert D. of Mishawaka and Dale A. of Florida; three grandchildren; a sister, Gladys Morgan of Bremen; and two brothers, Richard of Bremen and Ted of Mishawaka. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Wakarusa, and an Army veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main St. Burial will be in Olive Cemetery, Elkhart. Friends may call one hour before services in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
