SOUTH BEND - Mr. Ollie James, 82, who resided on West Florence, South Bend, Indiana, departed this life on Friday, December 11, 2009, in his residence. Ollie was born in Drew, Mississippi, to the union of Charles and Almeta (Jackson) James on December 11, 1927, who both preceded him in death. Coming from Lansing, Michigan, at the age of 22, he moved to South Bend. He was a self-employed auto mechanic all his life. He was very friendly and kind to everyone he met, and especially loved cars. He was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Lucille and Jasmin James, and two sons, Jerry and Charlie James. Ollie leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Staci Elzey of South Bend, lreah and Kathy James, both of Lansing, Michigan; two sons, Donte' James of South Bend and Irving James, one brother, Willie James, both of Lansing, Michigan; along with a very special friend, Oscar Moody of South Bend. Memorial services for Mr. Ollie James will be held at noon on Thursday, December 24, 2009, in Alford's Mortuary.
