Joseph J. James

July 4, 1904 - June 25, 1974

Joseph J. James, 69, of 1213 W. Jefferson Blvd., died at 11:40pm Tuesday in his home after an extended illness.  Jr. James was a former Studebaker Corp. employee, having worked there 28 years.

Born July 4, 1904, in South Bend, he had lived here all his life.  On July 1, 1933, in South Bend, he married Ella H. Molnar, who survives.  Also surviving are two sons, Kay L. and Thomas R., both of South Bend; five grandchildren; two brothers, Clement R of Chicago and Lee of Phoenix AZ and a sister, Mrs. Mary Fox of Phoenix.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and 2 to 9pm Thursday in the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home.  Services will be at 1-am Friday in St Stephen's Catholic Church, Msgr. Elmer G. Peterson, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.  A wake service will be held at 7:30pm Thursday in the funeral home.
