David C. James

April 14, 1907 – August 26, 1982

David C. James, 75, of 521 S Ironwood, died at 5:10pm Thursday at St Joseph's Medical Center after an extended illness.  He retired in 1971 from the Bendix Corp.

He was born on April 14, 1907, in Centralia IL, and lived in South Bend for 54 years after coming from Illinois.  On September 5, 1936, in Decatur IN, he married the former Violet B. Green, who survives, with a daughter, Miss Jacqueline Barrette of Houston; a granddaughter and a brother, Robyn James of Kankakee IL.

Member of South Bend Lodge 294 F & AM will conduct services at 1pm Saturday at the Hollis-Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawka Avenue.  Burial will be in St Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.

Friends may call from 6 to 8pm today and after 9am Saturday at the funeral home.  He was a member of Lodge 294 F & AM, Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and the South Bend Fraternal Order of Police Lodge.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St Joseph County Heart Association
