Mary E. Gerstbauer

Mishawaka – Miss Mary E. Gerstbauer, aged 48, os 202 South Harrison Street, a music teacher, died at 8 p.m. in her home. Miss Gerstbauer was born March 4, 1891 in this city and made her home here during her lifetime.

 

She was graduated in 1910 from St. Angela’s academy, Morris, Ill., and later from the American Conservatory of Music, Chicago. Miss Gerstbauer gave piano lessons for several years in this city and taught music in Peru, Ind., public schools for a year, in the St. Mary’s college, Holy Cross, Ind., for several years and in public schools in East Chicago, Ind., for the last 11 years.

 

Surviving are her father Joseph P. Gerstbauer, at home, and two brothers, James L. and J. Louis Gerstbauer, both of this city.  Miss Gerstbauer was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church and the senior Young Ladies Sodality of the church.

 

Friends will be received in the residence from tonight until the funeral Saturday morning in the church. Rev. George J. Lauer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
