James Edward Gerstbauer

Mishawaka - James Edward Gerstbauer, 38, of 16522 Ireland Rd., Penn Twp., who had suffered from a heart condition for some time, died at 12:15 p.m. in Osteopathic Hospital, South Bend.

 

He was born in South Bend and had lived all of his lifetime in this vicinity. He married Ann Durbin in Mishawaka, Nov. 18, 1950. He was employed by Hibschman Pontiac Inc. Surviving are his widow; a daughter Cynthia; his father. James L.  Gerstrbauer of Mishawaka; a brother Bernard and a sister Mrs. Doris Towner, both of South Bend.

 

Mr. Gerstbauer graduated from Central Catholic High School, South Bend, in 1941 and attended the University of Notre Dame in 1942. He was in the armed forces from 1943 to 1946, and was a veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Penn Twp. Volunteer Fire Department.

 

Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Chapel after 7 p.m. today.

Pallbearers have been selected for James E. Gerstbauer, 38, of 16522 Ireland Rd., Peen Twp., whose funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rt. Rev. Msgr. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.

 

Friends may call in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home and the rosary will be recited there at 7:30 p.m. tonight. Acting pallbearers will be Louis Stier, Alan Crofoot, and Fabian, Joseph, Richard and Albert Gerstbauer. Homorary pallbearers will be Dale Hershberger and Michael, Charles, George, Steven and John Dorbin
