MISHAWAKA - Fabian L. Gerstbauer, 51, of 59748 Hickory Road, South Bend, a resident of Mishawaka most of his lifetime, died unexpectedly at 2:10 a.m. today in his home. He apparently suffered a heart attack a short time earlier. He was born in Mishawaka Aug. 27, 1916.

On April 15, 1941, he married Miss Velma Goesens here. Mr. Gerstbauer was president of the S & G Corp., and co-owner of Sheehan Television Sales and Service, South Bend, and was also a rel estate broker. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church here; Mishawaka Council 1878, Knights of Columbus; St Jude Ognib Club, South Bend and the BK Club.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Timothy of Ft. Polk, Louisiana and Terry at home; a daughter. Miss Jacqueline Gerstbauer, a student at Ball State University, Muncie; one grandson; his mother Mrs. Theckla Gerstbauer, Mishawaka; four sisters, Mrs. James Shamo, LaPorte, Mrs. Frank Hornung of Rayal Oak, Mich., and Mrs. George Cressy and Mrs. Regina McManus of Mishawaka, and three brothers, Joseph and Albert of Mishawaka and Richard of South Bend.

Friends may call in the Sprague Funeral Chapel after 2 p.m. Thursday. The rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Services will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Very. Rev. Curt A. Suetzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
