Suzanne Clair Gerard

Suzanne Clair Gerard, 51, of East Jefferson Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 6:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 2, in Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Ind., following an auto accident. She was born on Sept. 21, 1947, in Kansas City, Mo, to Francis and Elizabeth Gerard. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth "Betty" Gerard of Mishawaka; her children, Heather Howard of Barrington Hills, Ill., and Adam G. Howard of Mishawaka; her grandmother, Adeline Eberhart of Mishawaka; her sister, Jill Hedl of Mishawaka; a niece, Carrie Hedl of Milwaukee, Wis.; and by two nephews, Joshua Hedl of West Lafayette, Ind., and Jason Hedl of Mishawaka.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mishawaka where she was at one time a member of the choir and as also a deacon. She attended the Community Fellowship and was active with the Leukemia Foundation. She was a home health care provider for Devine Health Care of Mishawaka for the past year.

There will be a memorial service held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the First Presbyterian Church, Mishawaka, with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Cremation will take place, with burial at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, to the Leukemia Foundation, or to the Chapin Street Clinic, South Bend.
