Patrick M. Geraghty, 59, of Shipshewana, IN, formerly of Juday Lake Drive, South Bend, IN, passed away in his residence on Sunday, February 4, 2001, following an extended illness. He was born on October 1, 1941 to Clyde J. and Grace M. (Hess) Geraghty in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident until recently moving to Shipshewana, IN.

Mr. Geraghty retired on December 31, 1999, after 22 years as Executive Vice-president of Stanz Food Service in South Bend, IN. His father, Clyde J. Geraghty, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his mother, Grace M. Geraghty of Mishawaka, IN; his former wife, Barbara Geraghty of Mishawaka, IN who has remained very special in his life; three stepdaughters, Dawn Roth of Colorado Springs, CO; Gayle Weaver of Mishawaka, IN; Gwen Larkin of Mishawaka, IN; two stepsons, Leif Freehafer of Elkhart, IN; Rhett Freehafer of North Liberty, IN; seven step-grandchildren; four sisters, Darlene (husband Arden) Floran of South Bend, IN; Marigrace (husband Jim) Dill of Mishawaka, IN; Barbara (husband Bart) Powers of Tucson, AZ; Cindy (husband Tom) Santilli of Mishawaka, IN; and 22 nieces and nephews.

Mr. Geraghty was an Army Veteran, where he served in Germany, before being honorably discharged in 1966. He was a member of American Legion Post #210 in Middlebury, IN.

A private visitation and funeral service will take place. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger, IN. Memorial Contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, 535 West Edison, Unit #6, Mishawaka, IN 46545. KANIEWSKI FUNERAL HOME is handling arrangements.
