SOUTH BEND - Clyde J. Geraghty, 74, of Olivia Circle, died at 1 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph's Medical Center of natural causes. Mr. Geraghty was president of Stanz Food Service Inc. He was born Aug. 2, 1921, in Fargo, N.D., and lived here for 58 years, coming from Fargo.

 

On June 28, 1982, in South Bend, he married Shirley Harman. She survives with four daughters, Darlene Floran of South Bend, Marigrace Dill and Cindy Geraghty Santilli, both of Mishawaka, and Barbara J. Powers of Tucson, Ariz.; a son, Patrick M. of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Wendy J. Harman of Granger; a stepson, Mark R. Harman of Granger; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; his mother, Theresa Geraghty of South Bend; two sisters, Ellen J. Nelson of Mesa, Ariz., and Colleen L. Tonge of South Bend; and two brothers, John S. of Plymouth and Richard E. of Cassopolis.

 

He was a member of Rotary Club, Morris Park Country Club, Summit Club, Notre Dame Quarterback Club, General Foods Distributor Council, White Plains, N.Y., and FAB Inc. board of directors, Atlanta. He established the first American Legion Post in Roseland and was a World War II Navy veteran.

 

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Saint Mary's College campus. Cremation will take place, with burial at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St. Memorial contributions may be made to the ministry of The Poor Sisters of Holy Cross, Bertrand Hall, Saint Mary's College, Notre Dame, IN 46556-5000, or to any charity.
