Sister Mary Antonine Geers CSC, 80, died Wednesday evening in St. Mary’s Convent after a lengthy illness, She had served at St. Mary’s Academy, and in convents in Texas, New York, Maryland, Washington DC, Ohio and Virginia. Born on Oct. 29, 1894 in Quincy, Ill. as Leoma Florentia Geers, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on Feb. 1, 1922.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Loretto Church with burial to follow in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call today and until services in the convent parlors, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today.
