SOUTH BEND - Silvio Andrew Gardini, 60, died at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, June 3, in Hospice House.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia; daughters, Elizabeth (Dr. Aaron) Young and Kathryn Gardini; a son, Anthony (Ana) Gardini; grandchildren, Isabella and Jacob; his mother, Mary; a sister, Lana (Jim) Jaroszewski; and brothers, Fred Jr., Riginaldo (Laura) and Dino.

 

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland Road, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m.

SOUTH BEND - Silvio Andrew Gardini, 60, of South Bend, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007, in Hospice House. Silvio was born on May 18, 1947, in South Bend, to Armando "Fred" and Mary (Medich) Gardini. His father and brother, Joey, have preceded him in death.

 

On June 28, 1969, in South Bend, Silvio married Cynthia Abel. She survives along with daughters, Elizabeth (Dr. Aaron) Young and Kathryn Gardini; a son, Anthony (Ana) Gardini; grandchildren, Isabella and Jacob; his mother, Mary; a sister, Lana (Jim) Jaroszewski; and brothers, Fred Jr., Reginaldo (Laura) and Dino.

 

Silvio was in the Navy Reserves and worked as an accountant for Trelleborg Automotive of South Haven, MI. He was a member of the Cathedral of St. Matthew, Knights of Columbus 5521 Ave Maria Council, and on the board of directors for the Alumni Association of IUSB. He enjoyed sports, especially basketball, fishing, gardening, the Bears, the Chicago White Sox, IU basketball, and Notre Dame.

 

Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today, June 6, 2007, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 7, 2007, in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cathedral of St. Matthew.
