MISHAWAKA - Mrs. Silvio Gardini, aged
73, of 211 W. 12th Street, died at 10 a.m. Saturday in
St. Joseph Hospital after a short illness. She was born in
Cesena, Italy, and moved to here 30 years ago from Logansport,
Ind.
As Clarisa Barducci she married Mr.
Gardini in Italy in 1904. He died in 1919. Surviving are two
daughters, Mrs. August Gasperoni, and Mrs. W. S. Chicci,
Mishawaka; three sons, Dante Gardini, Mishawaka, and Fred and
Aldo Gardini, South Bend; 11 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gardini was a member of the Senior
Altar Society of St. Bavo’s Catholic Church and the Anita
Garibaldi Scoiety. Friends may call at the DeVos Funeral Home
after 7 p.m. Sunday and until the funeral services at 9 a.m.
Tuesday in St. Bavo’s Church. Rev. Otto J. Keller, pastor,
will officiate and burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. The
rosary will be recited Monday evening in the church following
novena services.
