10, 1919 - Feb. 9, 2010SOUTH BEND - Michael Garbacz, 90, passed away on Tuesday, February 9th, in Hospice House, South Bend. Michael was born on November 10, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Nicholas and Anna (Skinger) Garbacz. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ann George, and two brothers, John and Alex. On January 13, 1943, in South Bend, he married the former Georgina Faini. Surviving are his loving wife, Georgina; children, Michael (Darci) of Jupiter, FL, Gail Kroll of South Bend and Greg Garbacz of South Bend; three grandchildren, Kelly (Evan) Blatt, Stacey (John) Villimizar and Kristi Garbacz; and a brother, Nichalos (Millie) Garbacz of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Mike was a golf pro for 22 years at Elbel and five years at Robin Hood golf courses. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps. Visitation will be Friday, February 12, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 8th Street, Mishawaka. Funeral services will Saturday at noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care or to the American Heart Association .
