Edward Louis Galvas

SOUTH BEND - Services for Edward Louis Galvas, 72, of Thomasville, Ga., formerly of South Bend, who died Friday in Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Gainesville, Fla., after an illness, will be at 11 a.m. next Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

 

Mr. Galvas retired in 1992 from Imperial Packaging in Georgia and was a former employee of RACO Inc. and the University of Notre Dame in the power plant. He was born April 6, 1922, in South Bend, and lived in South Bend until moving to Georgia in 1972.

 

His first wife, Virginia Dobrzykowski, died Sept. 29, 1962. His second wife, Rose Cuzinski, died in 1971. He is survived by his wife, Nancy C. Galvas; three sons, Patrick of Great Falls, Mont., Terry of Elkhart and Michael of Seaford, Va.; a sister, Phyllis Barkley of South Bend; and a brother, John of South Bend. He was a veteran of World War II.
