EX-RESIDENT OF NEW CARLISLE DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY CAR

NEW CARLISLE - Martha L. Gallagher, 34, of Kissimmee, Fla., formerly of New Carlisle, died Saturday in Osceola (Fla.) Regional Hospital, Kissimmee, after she was struck by a car at 9:30 p.m. Saturday. The Florida Highway Patrol said Ms. Gallagher was attempting to walk across a highway and was struck by an eastbound car.

Services for Miss Gallagher will be at 4 p.m. Monday in New Carlisle United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place. There will be no visitation. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Alcoholics Anonymous.

Ms. Gallagher was a former waitress. She was born April 4, 1960, in Chicago and moved to Florida 12 years ago. She is survived by her father, Ralph G. Arndt of Chicago; a sister, Marlene K. Nickerson of South Bend; and six brothers, George L. Arndt of West Lafayette, Ind., Michael S. Schmidt of Arlington, Va., Daniel M. Gallagher of Chicago, Donald L. Peters of Anamosa, Iowa, and John A. Arndt and Glenn M. Arndt, both of New Carlisle.
