Otto J. Futterknecht

Otto J. Futterknecht, 77, of 326 Milburn Court, died at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, in Golden Age Manor after an extended illness.  He was the vice president and general manager of Max Alder’s Co., from which he retired in 1963 after 45 years.  He was born in Mishawaka on Aug. 26, 1899, and was a lifetime resident of the city.  On Oct. 18, 1921, in Mishawaka, he married Marian E. Person, who survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Dr. James of Elkhart, John of South Bend and Robert of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alfred Trippel of Mishawaka, and three brothers, Godfrey, Leo and Joseph, all of Mishawaka.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home.  Futterknecht was a member of St. Joseph’s Church; Mishawaka Council 1878, Knights of Columbus; Father J.A. Nieuwland’s General Assembly of 4th Degree, K. of C.; Catholic Order of Foresters and Harvest House of St. Joseph’s Church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph County Heart Fund.

Services for Otto J. Futterknecht, 77, of 326 Milburn Ct., who died early Sunday in the Golden Age Manor nursing home, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Msgr. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery here.  Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today by Mishawaka Council 1878, Knights of Columbus, and Father Nieuwland’s General Assembly 4th Degree, K. of C.
