OBITUARY


Mrs. Malisa Fry


Mrs. Malisa Fry, aged 82, formerly of South Bend and Mishawaka, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the home of her son. Oscar E. Fry, near Frankfort, Ind.. after a short illness. She was born near Culver Ind.. Aug. 18, 1857. the daughter of Martin and Sarah Sturgeon. who had settled in Marshall county several years before, coming from Pennsylvania. She was married in January. 1879, in Culver to Samuel Fry, with whom she came to Mishawaka in 1905.  Mr. Fry died Oct. 1. 1916, and Mrs. Fry became a resident of South Bend in 1925.
She is survived by two sons, Oscar, with whom she had made her home recently, and Lowell Fry, of Mishawaka: five daughters, Mrs. Bessie Peach. South Bend, Mrs. Pearl Wright, Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Lon Peters, Colfax avenue; Mrs. Rufus Criss. - Linden. Ind.. and Mrs. Paul Kring. Chicago; a stepson, Richard Fry, DeLong. Ind., and a stepdaughter Mrs. Emma Sult. Battle Creek. Mich.; three brothers, Arthur Sturegon. and Elmer Sturgeon.  Logansport. Ind.. and Enock Sturgeon. Kenneth, Mo.. and 30 grandchildren, 31 great-great children and one  great-great-grandchild.
Friends will be received after 8 p. m. today in the home of Mrs.
Peach. 735 North Notre Dame avenue, until one hour before the funeral services, which will be held at 2 p. in. Friday in the Lowell Heights Methodist church, of which she was a member. Rev. Mortimer Dean, pastor of the church, assisted by Rev. D. D. Spangler, retired, will officiate. Burial will be in the Mishawaka city cemetery.
